Real Ale Ride

What day is the ride on this year?

Saturday, October 26, 2019. The first group of riders (on 80-mile route) will be released at 7:30 AM.  All other distances are released in 15-minute increments thereafter.

Should I bring food and water with me on the ride?

The Real Ale Ride will have rest stops every ten to twelve miles with food and water, but if you have a favorite ride food, please plan to carry some with you. We also recommend you eat breakfast. Even if you're only planning to ride one of the shorter courses, you'll be burning through fuel faster than you think. Breakfast is very important.

Do the rest stops have toilets?

Yes, all of our rest stops have at least two portable toilets. Plus, there will be some portable toilets at the brewery for your convenience before and after the ride.

What food will be available at the rest stops this year?

Rest stop snacks will include bananas, cookies, oranges, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches or other similar items.

How can my family and friends participate?

There are a few ways. They can register for the ride with you. We have multiple routes catering to all levels of cyclists. You can also purchase a spectator pass on the registration page. This will allow them to participate in the post-ride festivities with you, including food, drinks, and music.

They can also Volunteer. We'll have several morning-only volunteer shifts that would allow them to come to the event with you, keep busy while you ride, get a free t-shirt and food, then attend the post-ride festivities with you.

Do I need to bring my ID?

Yes. You should always have personal ID when you ride, as well as a copy of your medical card.  Also, if you want beer, we’ll need to know you're 21.

Is there an age limit for participating in the ride?

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

What happens in the event of severe weather on ride day?

The event will take place rain or shine. If the weather becomes too severe, the ride will be canceled for the safety of all riders. No refunds will be issued. All profits will still go to our beneficiary.

What happens if I’ve registered for the ride but I'm no longer able to participate?

You can transfer your registration to another person through the registration site for a $5 fee. No refunds will be issued.

Can I pick up packets for friends, relatives or team members at the packet pick-up locations?

Yes. We allow friends and family members to pick up packets for others as long as they bring a signed hardcopy of the Ride Waiver. Electronic versions of this form cannot be accepted.

What if I can't make it to packet pick up?

No problem. We’ll be ready for you near the starting line on the morning of the ride. We recommend you arrive early since out-of-town riders will also be picking up their packets on the morning of the ride.
