Camacho MTB Team

Camacho Mountain Bike Team

"Our goal is to break invisible barriers to success for our underserved youth and teen populations in the East Austin Community. We put kids on bikes, but it doesn’t end there. The opportunities and experiences that cycling provides are long-lasting. Our team strives to build strong bodies, strong minds, and strong character for all participants. Through mentorships, support, and education we are creating confident young leaders in our East Austin community. In providing a safe and inclusive environment, our participants will thrive and become great stewards for the next generation of riders." - Camacho

Located on the Hike and Bike Trail, Austin's Camacho Activity Center is dedicated to providing quality outdoor recreation and environmental education programs to youth, teens, adults, and seniors. Their competitive mountain bike team meets three days a week and serves low-income, ethnic minority, and at-risk students from several of (mostly) East Austin's middle and high schools. Camacho's MTB program offers opportunities to kids outside of cycling’s typical demographic in order to compete at a state level, with the possibility of college scholarships and higher education.
