May is Bike Month in Austin and there’s no shortage of things to ride to and ways to celebrate the diverse cycling culture our city offers. It's the perfect excuse to get out and ride.
Come to one of our five locations and hop on a weekly shop ride with options for every level. To learn the essential skills every cyclist should have in their back pocket, take our BSSU free maintenance class that rotates between Bicycle Sport Shop locations.

City Cycling will help you ride safely and effectively — to work, to the store, around your neighborhood or around the state. It is Driver’s Ed for cyclists. City Cycling is taught by League-certified instructors, and the curriculum covers everything, including bike selection, simple maintenance, fixing a flat, and strategies for riding a bike safely and confidently. This class at REI is designed for anyone who wants to become more comfortable on their bike. Register >
Bring your wheels to the Circuit of the Americas track from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and go for a spin around the world-class 3.4-mile, 20-turn circuit. Come experience the track like never before. Details >

Pass on your love of the trail to kids during our Take a Kid Mountain Biking series! This is a great opportunity for parents, guardians, teachers and/or mentors to take a kid mountain biking and share a love of riding and the outdoors. RSVP >
If doing a triathlon is on your bucket list, then this is the triathlon for you! The 300 meter swim, 11 mile bike, and 2 mile run is a great starting distance for the rookie triathlete. Register >
Join ARR as they break into groups according to ability. Beginners are welcome, and there will be no drops. Meet in the parking lot by the swimming pool. Details >
With paces to satisfy the entire road-rider spectrum, it's a great opportunity to socialize with fellow lady cyclists and ride in a friendly atmosphere on an easy-paced, challenging, or push your limits ride. Meet at Walnut Creek Park for group rides and mountain biking skills instruction. Riders break into small groups based on ability and then hit the trail. The Splash & Dash is a swim-run event held at Quarry Lake at Pure Austin North. The swim will be one loop of the lake (approx. 750m) and 3 loops on the running trail (approx 3 km) Register >
Try biking to work or using your bike for errands in your neighborhood. Every person on a bike makes the world a better place for everyone (including people who drive). Bring a friend and make a difference! Morning and afternoon fuel stations will be providing snacks and refreshments. Bicycle Sport Shop’s most popular event rolls through the scenic hills of Blanco, TX on Saturday, May 20, 2017 for it's 10th anniversary. It’s a ride for all cyclists, with distances of 15, 30, 50, 65, and 80 miles to choose from. Routes are fully supported and all end at Real Ale Brewing Company for a post-ride celebration with local beer and barbecue. Register >
