BIKE INVENTORY ALERT: Current bike availability is low nationwide, but we still have hundreds of bikes arriving on a weekly basis. Many of these bikes won't make it to the website because they will go to customers that have placed a preorder with us. The fastest way to secure a bike is to place a preorder with our staff. If you would like information on the availability of a specific model and/or how to prepay to be in line for the next available bike when it arrives, please fill out this form. (Preorders require payment.)

For nearly 30 years Bicycle Sport Shop has sold countless bikes and accessories to Central Texas cyclists. But the most important thing we hope you leave our stores with is a love of cycling.

Sharing our cycling passion is a tradition that began with Hill Abell and Laura Agnew in 1985 when they bought a small bike shop on Barton Springs Road in South Austin. The little shop was one of only a handful of stores in Texas that sold mountain bikes. What Hill and Laura lacked in business experience they made up for in sheer exuberance for riding.

While a lot has changed in the over 30 years since Bicycle Sport Shop opened, our core values haven't. To reach our goal of getting more people on bikes, we focus on:

  • Curating a thoughtful selection of bikes, accessories, and services that enhance the cycling experience;
  • A relentless dedication to the best customer service anywhere;
  • A no-excuses, 100% satisfaction guarantee; and
  • A commitment to cycling advocacy and community outreach.

Today, each Bicycle Sport Shop location has a diverse staff of passionate cyclists with a common love for riding. When you come in, you can be confident you'll get well-informed advice in a comfortable atmosphere on the best products to make your cycling experience the best it can be. Don't let our laid-back Austin attitude fool you; everyone at Bicycle Sport Shop is serious about doing whatever it takes to exceed your expectations.

While we're committed to an exceptional experience when you shop with us, we didn't become an Austin institution by just selling bikes. We're also devoted to doing the right thing for our community: protecting our trails, educating riders, supporting youth cycling and championing bike-friendly laws.

In short, we love cycling. And we want you to love it as well.
